FAQ

FAQ
Q: How do I start? How do I register?
A: First, go to www.hasc.net/marathon/mt-register.php for the registration information. Once you are registered, you will need to begin training and fundraising.

Q.
If I’m running with a family member, are the fundraising requirements different?
A:
There are the same fundraising requirements - each participant is required to raise $500.

Q.
I’m short of breath walking to my car in the driveway. How am I going to run a marathon?
A:
Coach Michal! Please click here to read our coach’s story and to see how she can help you with your training. Team HASC proudly accepts all sprinters, runners, joggers, walkers, and crawlers.

Q.
My sponsor wants to give me a check instead of using the website. Where should the check be mailed and to whom should it be made out? How does the money sponsored to me by check get added to my personal page?
A: All checks will be processed by the HASC office before they are added to your profile. Therefore, checks need to be mailed to HASC MARATHON, 5902 14th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11219. All checks should be made out to HASC Summer Program. Please ensure that your sponsors write your name in the memo of the check so that the funds they sponsor you for will go to you. If your sponsor wishes to include a personal message to you with the check, it will be added to your personal page by the HASC Marathon Committee. If you do not see your personal page updated right away with the funds received by check, please be patient and wait a few days for the check to be cleared by our office.

Q.
I want to set my fundraising goal higher than the minimum of $500. If I don't meet my new fundraising goal, will my credit card be charged the remainder?
A: It's great to set high goals and we highly recommend that you do set a higher goal than $500. You are only required to raise $500, so as long as you raise that amount, your credit card will not be charged anything.
